A journey to the Black Forest - The best slices of the research sketchbook
Hello lovely folks!
If you’re here it’s because you’ve heard about my idea to take a research trip to a spooky woodland in Germany to research a very old and ornately carved piece of furniture that I’m currently working on.
Let it never be said that I don’t take my creativity seriously :D
If I take the trip I’ll have very little rest, and will spend the time I’m there (after the 10 hour drive through France and maybe Belgium!) drawing and painting the cuckoo clocks, forest, foods, flowers, animals and folklore. I usually fill a sketchbook with travel notes, drawn maps, and my own inky paintings of the things I see. I would LOVE to share it with you and put all the best bits into a little postable document/zine to send out to you when I get back. A guide of your own, the point of view of a creative, and some artistic inspiration all rolled in to one. You might be aware that I don’t often do things by half, so it’s likely to include a postcard and any other treats I find that I can fit through the post too.
The pre-order will include a link to a travel blog that might even inspire you to take your own trip to the places and people from the trip. And of course, your souvenir zine of all that is exceptional that I see on the trip to the folklore forest. Much more than anything shared on social media and something to hold in your hand or maybe even frame :)
Your link to the blog will be sent to you on purchase and the zine is being printed at the end of September.
